Located in the northern Yucatán peninsula, close to the Chichén Itzá archaeological site, the Hacienda San Jose stands where the quarters of a colonial plantation house once stood.

Fully restored in 1998, this exclusive full service hotel now consists of 15 guest rooms and suites designed with exquisite details. The accommodations surround an impressive courtyard where you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the past. You can still admire the acres of land on which orchards once flourished and see the chiminea, used for the production of sugar cane until 1865.

RESTAURANT & LOUNGES: 
The hacienda's restaurant serves the best regional cuisine with a real Yucatecan flavor. Breakfast is served from 7am (or earlier if you wish) so guests can enjoy the freshness of the early mornings and make a good start on their excursions. To start the day a fresh pot of steaming hot coffee is delivered to your room at your chosen time each morning!

At night, the stone walls are floodlit to spectacular effect and dining under the majestic arches is a magical delight.  The finest linen, silver cutlery and soft candlelight please the senses, and the temptation to linger in the cool evening breezes is very strong. We invite you.

"We just finished a five-day stay at the Hacienda San Jose, and, having been to Mexico more than 20 times, would have to say this tops anything else by a long stretch. Nothng compares to the service, food and accomodations we found there, and the staff and mangement never even blinked at some of the requests for service we had. Traveling with two young children to this remote place made me a little hesitant initially, but the surroundings seem to instill a quiet in them that I wouldn't have suspected. A stroll around the grounds of the hacienda reveals further delights.  The old archway, a sign of prestige in the days of the working hacienda, is carefully restored.

During the daytime, you might even see tortillas being made outside in the traditional way.

The swimming pool at Hacienda San José is incredibly enticing. There is a shaded area at one end of the pool and also a Jacuzzi.

Refreshments can be ordered by the pool - you'll find that staff will quickly come and check your requirements when you settle into the sun loungers.  Soft towels, cool drinks and additional sun shades will be provided while you cool off in the pool.
